JOB DETAILS
The Regional Chief Financial Officer (RCFO) serves as the senior financial leader for a defined group of hospitals within HealthTech/Impekkable’s portfolio. This position provides strategic financial leadership, ensures fiscal discipline, and partners with regional CEOs, hospital CEOs, and hospital CFOs and to drive operational performance, profitability, and sustainable growth. Travels regularly to attend hospital board meetings and engage with local managers. Consults on projects throughout the network as needed.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
Strategic & Financial Leadership
Partner with hospital CEOs, hospital CFOs, and the regional CEO to develop and execute financial strategies that support the region’s operational and growth objectives.
Provide actionable insights through financial forecasting, performance analysis, and key performance indicator (KPI) tracking.
Monitor annual operating and capital budgeting processes across assigned hospitals, ensuring accuracy, accountability, and alignment with strategic goals.
Monitor initiatives to improve revenue cycle performance, cost management, and operational efficiency.
Operational & Financial Management
Review monthly, quarterly, and annual financial reporting for all regional facilities.
Monitor hospital P&Ls, balance sheets, and cash flow performance.
Partner with hospital leaders to evaluate capital investment opportunities
Lead financial due diligence for new ventures, acquisitions, or partnerships.
Review annual CMS Cost Reports and recommend improvements for critical access cost report performance.
Leadership & Team Development
Provide mentorship, guidance, and development opportunities to facility-level finance leaders and teams.
Foster a culture of accountability, transparency, and continuous improvement within the finance function.
Serve as a trusted advisor to regional and local leadership.
QUALIFICATIONS
Education
Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field required
MBA or CPA preferred.
Experience
Minimum of 10 years of progressive financial leadership experience, with at least 5 years in a healthcare or hospital system environment required.
Critical Access Hospital knowledge and experience required.
Skills
Proven ability to manage hospital financial operations.
Strong analytical, strategic planning, and communication skills.
Expertise in healthcare reimbursement models, payer mix analysis, and regulatory compliance.
Proficiency in ERP and healthcare financial systems (e.g., Meditech, Oracle, Epic).
Leadership
Demonstrated success building and leading high-performing teams in a matrixed environment.
