Aspiranet serves more than 35,000 California children, youth, and families, each year from forty-four community-based sites statewide. Aspiranet provides a spectrum of services in Northern California, Southern California, and in the Central California Valley, including foster and adoption services, behavioral and mental health services, residential care, educational services, community-based family services, and emergency shelter.
The Opportunity
Aspiranet is seeking a Chief Financial Officer (CFO) who will be a strategic thought partner to the Chief Executive Officer (CEO) at the Aspiranet headquarters, which is located at scenic Oyster Point Marina in South San Francisco. The CFO is responsible for the overall strategic management of operations, staff, and resources in the areas of finance, budget, accounting, risk, and purchasing for Aspiranet.
The key responsibilities of the CFO include:
Provide visionary leadership for the operations of the Finance and Accounting Department and oversee the agency's fiscal affairs.
Oversee the annual budget and planning process, monitor progress and changes, and inform senior leadership of the agency's financial status.
Manage cash flow and forecasting; ensure contract billing and collection schedules are adhered to, and financial data and cash flow support operational requirements.
Oversee the management of cash receipts, tangible assets, disbursements, federal grant reimbursement requests, and the billing of grants. Ensure annual financial statement audits, tax returns, reports, and statements and adherence to all regulatory and compliance requirements.
Ensure accounting and financial management systems are optimized to promote efficiency, accuracy, compliance, reporting and analytics.
Maintain and develop accounting and financial management policies, procedures and practices while ensuring that internal control policies remain effective.
Maintain, monitor, and enhance risk management standards for the protection, maintenance, and improvement of agency assets, work with insurance providers in pursuit of cost-effective solutions for legal and professional liability.
Lead and drive a high-performing team and learning culture.
Attend Board and Financial Committee meetings as an agency representative; provide presentations and financial updates.
