Springmont School is searching for an exceptional person with a mind for business and a heart for schools to join our non-profit team immediately. This is a full-time, senior-level position in independent school finance and requires accounting, management, and basic HR experience and understanding. Finance Office responsibilities span bookkeeping and payroll to financial strategic financial planning and annual audits.
Springmont is a non-sectarian, accredited day school serving 250 students 18 months through 8th grade. Located on seven wooded acres in north metro-Atlanta, Springmont is recognized as a premier independent, Montessori school. With a legacy of more than 57 years, we serve a unique and distinctive mission, and our graduates matriculate to competitive area high schools.
Qualifications required:
Minimum of Bachelor’s Degree in Business Administration, Accounting or related School Finance field – CPA experience is a plus
Minimum 5 years accounting experience, preferably in non-profit independent school business and operation
Working knowledge of employment-related laws including HIPPA, EEO, FLSA
Experience supervising business office personnel
Responsibilities include:
Monthly, quarterly and annual reporting to the Head of School and Finance Committee of the Board of Trustees
Assisting with annual budgeting, including setting tuition and tuition assistance
Managing day to day bookkeeping, including general ledger, monthly departmental statements, bank accounts, credit card transactions, and payment plans/receivables
Managing vendor contracts and accounts payable
Managing benefits and payroll for all personnel in conjunction with HR Manager
Preparing annual employment agreements and managing background checks
Managing compliance with finance, HR, and workers’ comp laws in conjunction with HR Manager
Coordinating annual review of financial data and preparation of tax disclosures.
Oversee business office personnel.
