The Chief Financial Officer is the senior most financial position in the company. This position is responsible for leading the business in the development and delivery of its financial objectives and ensuring sound financial control and governance. The CFO is operationally savvy, proactive, and hands-on with the business. The CFO will partner with the CEO and COO to drive growth and organizational change while creating a high-performance culture and leading the development and engagement of associates.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
Serve as a member of the executive team providing financial guidance and leadership in delivering business objectives.
Ensure robust business strategies are identified and executed, as well as initiate, develop and lead programs to support strategic priorities and operational delivery.
Ensure vigorous financial evaluation of all major business decisions such as strategic business direction, pricing, and capital investment.
Proactively identify and analyze business issues and opportunities, including recommendations for future actions. Initiate, lead, and manage projects which will improve current business results and deliver against strategy.
Appraise the organization’s financial position and present insights on the organization’s financial stability, liquidity, and growth.
Establish and execute appropriate financial controls and risk management processes. Manage company-wide business risk including all corporate insurance coverages, as well as the bidding process.
Develop and implement strong control processes and procedures to ensure controllable costs are in line with the business strategy and budgets.
Ensure financial statements are fully compliant with all appropriate accounting standards and reporting requirements are met in a timely and high quality manner.
Communicate and reinforce the Company vision, values, and goals internally and externally.
Provide leadership to each unit to develop the engagement, capabilities, and talent pipeline of the finance division.
Contribute to a high performance business culture through financial analysis, insights, and strategy development. Provide world-class governance and financial operations through effective financial controls and efficient financial processes. Optimize our financial structure through continues improvement of treasury operations and tax management.
Bring to the organization a high sense of urgency and accountability and drive change for efficiencies and continuous improvement.
Assit the CEO and COO in identifying M&A opportunities and support the due diligence process.
Manage relationships with internal and external constituencies including bankers and tax/audit and bonding partners.
Provide leadership and financial guidance to ancillary businesses as requested.
Oversight of human resource administration including payroll, payroll taxes, employee benefit plans, 401k, disability plans, etc.
Oversee the financial close process at the unit level and willingness to assist as needed.
Perform Parent company financial close process and compile consolidated financial statements.

Other duties or special projects as assigned.
Bachelor’s Degree in Accounting, Business Administration or related field.
Ten (10) plus years of successful experience in a senior financial position of similar scope, including cost accounting, auditing, financial analysis, line management, and internal controls.
Highly skilled in MS Office programs and databases; Excel, Access, etc.
Finance experience within the construction, contracting and/or concrete industries preferred.
