Local mental health and IDD public community center seeks an experienced and highly successful senior leader to join an established management team. The HARRIS CENTER for Mental Health and IDD (formerly known as MHMRA of Harris County) is one of the largest mental health and IDD centers in the United States, serving more than 52,000 persons in the greater Houston metropolitan area who suffer from mental illness and/or intellectual developmental disabilities. We serve the "priority population" - adults who are diagnosed with severe and persistent mental illness, children with serious emotional disturbances, and people diagnosed with moderate to severe intellectual or developmental disorders. A significant percentage of the population served have limited financial means.
By working closely with the CEO and the entire executive leadership team, the CFO will assist in developing and implementing fiscal management and reporting strategies across the organization. The CFO will serve as the primary advisor to the CEO on financial matters and will be responsible for overseeing all fiscal and fiduciary responsibilities for the agency. As an ambassador for the Agency, the CFO will work with internal and external stakeholders on a regular basis and should possess excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
This role requires a Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Business Administration or Public Administration. Master’s degree is highly preferred. Must be a Certified Public Accountant. Six years’ significant operational/administrative experience working in a large and complex healthcare delivery system with proven financial, budgetary and capital planning expertise is required. Experience in a governmental entity is highly preferred.
