Acts as liaison for external auditors and investigates their recommendations.
Approves payment and/or signing of all Accounts Payable checks.
Supervises the preparation and update of standard costs.
Approves requisitions not signed by the General Manager.
Monitors collection efforts of inactive and miscellaneous accounts receivable.
Responsible for property & casualty and general liability insurance coverage's.
Responsible for Association’s loan portfolio. Performs any and all other duties that may be assigned from time to time by the General Manager & CEO.
Meet with direct reports on a regular scheduled basis to keep them inform of significant decisions and/or changes in the organization and solicit their input.
Report risk issues to General Manager and Board of Directors. Develop and monitor Performance measures that support the strategic direction.
Education: Bachelor’s Degree in Accounting, Finance or related field is required.
Experience: Seven to nine year’s progressively responsible experience in Accounting, Finance and Information Technology is required. Additional significant experience may be substituted for a portion of educational requirement.
Job Knowledge: Thoroughly demonstrated management expertise, including project management, is required. Sound knowledge of accounting and finance management is required to assure meeting of overall goals and objectives of the Association. Must become thoroughly familiar with all 4-County policies, rules and regulations, and bylaws. Must acquire sound knowledge of TVA and other regulatory requirements.
Abilities & Skills: Must be able to motivate, direct, and develop professional staff reporting to this division. Must have ability and skills to organize work to meet deadlines, work well under pressure, and communicate effectively in both written and oral forms. Must be able to work with a variety of people individually or in-groups under varying circumstances. Must have the ability to work on multiple projects simultaneously.
Usual office conditions. This is a key position at a responsible staff management level. As such, it is a part of the terms and conditions of employment that this individual work overtime, attend training programs, etc., as are necessary to effectively carry out the position’s responsibilities.
