Knowledge and Skill Requirements • Health care experience preferred • Ability to make persuasive presentations on controversial or complex topics to administration, outside stakeholders, and the Board of Directors • Sound technical skills, analytical ability, good judgment, and strong operation focus • Ability to apply principles of logical or scientific thinking to a wide range of intellectual and practical problems
Representative Duties • Provide timely financial reports to the CEO and other senior administrators • Analyze monthly financial results and provide recommendations • Develop and recommend cost-control and reimbursement strategies • Oversee the month-end close process, reviewing procedures to eliminate inefficiencies • Oversee preparation of monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements, including profit and loss statements, budget reports, and others • Review and ensure application of appropriate internal controls, compliance, and financial procedures • Manage the cash-flow planning process and ensure fund availability • Explore new investment opportunities and provide recommendations on potential risks and returns • Administer the retirement plan and profit-sharing plan, including related legal issues • Ensure compliance with local, state, and federal reporting requirements • Provide strategic financial input and leadership on decision-making issues that affect the practice, such as evaluation of potential alliances and acquisitions • Oversee three employees in charge of payroll and benefits, accounts receivable, and supply • Assist Human Resources with benefit plans, with particular emphasis on maximizing a cost-effective benefits package • Improve efficiencies in the use of labor and assets and the optimum allocation of resources
Required Qualifications • CPA or master's degree in accounting plus five to ten years of relevant experience and training, or equivalent combination of education and experience
Preferred Qualifications • Health care experience preferred • Group practice experience preferred • CPA preferred
