The International Society for Technology in Education (ISTE®) is looking for a full-time Senior Director of Finance (CFO) to be ISTE's financial leader spearheading management of all financial processes and strategy development. This individual will provide vision and leadership in the automation of financial processes and provide managers with the financial information required to drive growth. This is an excellent opportunity for a current CFO or ascendant financial leader who seeks to develop a cutting edge financial operation of an international $20+ million nonprofit 501(c)3 organization. Minimum Qualification Guidelines • Seasoned and mature leader with at least 5-8 years of broad finance experience. • Experience managing the finance function (accounting, budgeting, control, and reporting) within a diverse, division-based entity. • A minimum of a BS; MBA preferred; a CPA would be a plus • An equivalent combination of education and experience may also be acceptable. Also desired: • Past experience successfully partnering with IT staff to manage critical financial management systems. Experience with the Intacct application as well as budgeting systems like Adaptive Insights is preferred. • Deep understanding of and experience in managing annual audits and tax preparations. • Nonprofit experience is preferred. • Proven creativity in funding activities in ways that both cover costs and generate operating margins. • Experience with federal grants is preferred. Critical Skills • A hands-on manager with integrity and a desire to work in a dynamic environment. • Proven leadership competencies and attributes and demonstrated success in leading and maintaining high-performing work teams. • Demonstrated competency in strategic thinking and obtaining year-over-year productivity while maintaining a sound fiscal environment. • Mature and proactive, with evidence of having worked as a true business partner to the leadership of a multi-divisional organization. • An effective communicator at all levels in the organization, with strong oral and written skills and a willingness to share information.A collaborative and flexible style, with a strong service mentality. • Demonstrable passion for ISTE’s mission; a hands-on manager with integrity and a desire to work in a dynamic environment.
