Good Shepherd Communities, a premier not-for-profit provider of senior living and long term care services throughout the Southern Tier of New York, has retained MedBest Recruiting, a national Senior Care Recruiting Firm, to identify and secure their next Chief Financial Officer.
Since 1870, Good Shepherd Communities has been serving seniors in the Greater Binghamton region. GSC is a not-for-profit organization that provides management and administrative services to its operating entities which include: Good Shepherd Village at Endwell, an upscale Continuing Care Retirement Community that provides independent living, skilled care, assisted living, companion services, and therapy services; Good Shepherd Fairview Home offers independent living, assisted living, adult care, skilled nursing, palliative care, respite care, short term rehabilitation, and outpatient therapy services; and Chase Memorial Nursing Home.
The Chief Financial Officer will report to the Chief Executive Officer and oversee an operating budget in excess of $30m, leading overall financial operations and strategies of Good Shepherd’s three operating entities and the Good Shepherd Communities Foundation.
As the primary executive of system finances, the Chief Financial Officer will have responsibility for the financial stability of Good Shepherd Communities in a continually changing healthcare climate. The Chief Financial Officer will have a high degree of input relating to financial policies and systems as well as future growth and new development projects in order to position GSC for long term growth and success in accordance with the organization’s established mission and objectives.

Requirements include a minimum of five years of financial experience in a long-term care setting and a Bachelor’s degree in a related field (Finance, Accounting or Business Administration).
Experience in a multi-site setting is strongly preferred. A high knowledge of State and Federal regulations, third party payer systems, and knowledge of the healthcare market within the State of New York will be essential to the success of this position.
