The Gunnery, a coeducational college preparatory boarding and day school for 290 boys and girls from 19 states and 20 countries in grades nine through twelve/post graduate, located on a 220-acre campus overlooking the historic Washington Green in northwest Connecticut’s picturesque Litchfield County, seeks a dynamic and experienced financial and business leader with superb financial, strategic and operating skills to fill the key position of Chief Financial Officer.
Responsibilities include management of all financial and business operations of the $21 million operating budget, accounting, facilities/construction, human resources, risk management and support services. Endowment is $25 million. The CFO reports directly to The Head of the School and interacts frequently with Trustees. 10+ years work experience in a financial and business leadership position is required; experience with independent schools, higher education and/or non-profit financial management highly desirable. Excellent managerial, leadership and financial skills are essential. Bachelor’s degree is required, M.B.A. and/or a master’s degree in a related field, or a CPA license strongly preferred.
